Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

The much-awaited film Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, starring Tom Cruise was released on 16th December, 2011 that grabbed much attention due to the showcasing the BMW futuristic cars. The promotion of car brands through action flicks is not a new concept. In the past, Aston Martin, a British sports car brand has promoted the model in the James Bond movie. Watching favorite actors driving the cars entice customers to try their hand on or either own these luxury cars.

The introduction of BMW cars in Mission Impossible 4 has given a chance to the German automobile manufacturer to increase the visibility of its BMW i8 concept model. In order to befit the theme of the movie, BMW has started a brand new marketing campaign that is named as ‘Mission to Drive’.
Apart from hybrid electric BMW i8 model, viewers can watch the fully electric BMW i3 concept and other BMW i models conquering the roads in the film. These models were officially unveiled by the President of BMW, Ludwig Willisch at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2011. The actress of Mission Impossible 4, Paula Patton, was also present along side Ludwig Willisch at the North American Auto Show.

BMW i3 and BMW i8 are the concept vehicles that will be available in 2013 and 2014 respectively. These car models symbolize electric-hybrid vehicles and purpose-built electric vehicles that would be made of carbon fibre.

The BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics is the predecessor of BMW i8 Concept car that attracts viewers by its flip-up doors and sleek dimensions. The BMW i3 Concept model is suitable for congested city driving and hence the vehicle earns the name ‘Mega city Vehicle’. This car has similar color schemes and creates much buzz with humongous glass doors that display a unique style as they open.

Tom Cruise is also seen driving the BMW 6 Series Convertible and futuristic BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics in many scenes of Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol. With the release of the movie, BMW is planning a new campaign that will commence from 2nd January 2012 and feature ‘self-destructing’ sales.

The company has even organized a contest for people in which a lucky winner will be awarded an all-expense paid trip to U.S. for the premiere of Mission Impossible 4. With all the recent promotions and teasers of the new Mission Impossible movie, BMW has successfully featured its upcoming cars that are equipped with unconventional technology.

Thus, BMW has given the perfect start to Mission Impossible 4 as it hit the screens in India and the outcome proves to firm the bond between cars and films further.
